Character Design and Color Keys : Persephone

This was a project done over the course of several weeks. The prompt was to redesign a known character and create a cinematic universe for them with environment thumbnails and color keys. It culminated with a full environment painting to go with the character.

I started with several silhouette designs and ended up combining some of them to the final one. Her pigtails are somewhat in the shape of a pomegranate, and the environment I focused on centers around a tree that has the door to the underworld.
